Prices for checked cargo differ by route. Purchasing a checked baggage allowance online is less costly than doing so at the airport. We recommend adding checked baggage to your reservation prior to your arrival at the airport.

Oversize – Overweight Checked Baggage Fees on RYANAIR

Any bag with a single side longer than one meter (39 inches) is considered an excessive item and will incur an oversized item handling charge. Each passenger may check up to two objects that are excessive. The oversized item charge is a per-item, per-flight management fee that can be paid online. If your bag is deemed too large, it will be placed in the hold, and you will be charged a fee based on your route.

Each passenger may purchase up to 40 kilo of checked cargo. No individual item may exceed 32 kg in weight. Any container that exceeds one metre in length in any direction is considered excessive. Small instruments weighing less than 7 kg and measuring no more than 85 x 36 x 23 cm are permitted as carry-on luggage. A larger instrument weighing no more than 15 kg may be taken on board with the purchase of an additional seat.

Domestic flights cost $15 per additional kilo, while international flights cost $25 per additional kilo. Connecting flights with both domestic and international legs will incur the international fare.
