The annual state-level teaching test for teachers is UPTET. Candidates who pass this exam can teach Primary (Classes 1–5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6-8) in Uttar Pradesh schools. UPESC conducts exams for the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board. UPTET has two papers. Candidates for 1-5th grade teaching take UPTET Paper 1. However, UPTET Paper 2 is for 6-8 teacher candidates. Candidates for Class 1-8 teaching must take both UPTET 2024 examinations.
